Hi,
can anybody please tell me how I can get the playlist file from meadiaplayer 11 to my walkman. I can transfer the songs and play them with no problem at all, but the playlist file will not show on the device, therefore I cannot just play certain files. Where is the playlist stored on the walkman? (folder location) What file format does it require? (wpl / asx / m3u?) After numerous emails to Sony I've given up asking them. Cheers.

Creat a playlist in WMP and then drag it over.

Open WMP and on the left column at the top is the playlist section. Create a new playlist and put whatever you want on it on it. Then just click and hold the playlist you've made and then drag onto the walkman - not into any part of the walkman, just where it says walkman and then hit start sync.

Sorry, still not there.
What is the file location on your walkman for your playlists? |

??
Playlists does not show in WMP under 'Walkman', nor does it show on the walkman when viewing it in Windows Explorer. Where on your walkman, when viewing it with Windows Explorer, does the playlist folder reside? Sorry to be a pain.

I noticed this with my A818, it all depends in which mode MTP/MSC your connecting your player
I went into device manager and changed mine to a usb mass storage device, and I can now see all my files/folders including a playlist folder. So, perhaps its the same for the S6 series?

I had the same problem as theboy. I could transfer music and album pics using WMP 11 but not playlists and could not see any .pla playlist in my NWZ s618F using Explorer. I tried every suggestion on the forums without success. I finally found the solution a few days ago, quite by accident:
1. Uninstall WMP11 using add/remove programs (even though you may have had no problems using it) 2. Re-install WMP 11 (I used the one that came with the NWZ S618 CD). 3. Using the newly re-installed WMP 11 make a playlist (or playlists)of your songs. Drag the playlist(s) into the sync panel on the right hand side and sync. Your songs will be transferred to your walkman and its playlist(s) will appear when you click on the walkman playlist icon. The playlist(s) will also now appear on the Walkman icon in WMP11! It would appear that the problem is not Sony but WMP! Voyager 14 August 2008 |
