Default Listening to Zen through PC possible?

How does one listen to music loaded onto ZEn through a PC?

Connect phones-out of your Zen to PCs mic input. Make sure volume settings for microphone aren't muted in PC. Select music on Zen and press Play. Et voila, your Zen plays through your PC.

I would think a 3.5 mm to 3.5mm jack cord would be needed?

...or if your computer has a FM tuner and if you have a FM transmitter, you can connect the transmitter to the Zen and tune into the same frequency of the transmission on your FM tuner on your computer...... but Valdr's way is much easier.

Maybe I'm missing the point, but... you can also just browse the Zen in windows and play files directly using whatever player is installed on the PC. I think it copies the file to a temporary location first, but this works if you don't want some player-specific functionality like playlists, etc. If you want to do a bunch -- just pull them all back to the PC. Of course, I'm assuming you're not using some DRM BS music -- I wouldn't know how that works since I refuse to buy it.

I always used Redchair's Notmad Explorer to browse and play files on my (original firewire Zen). It has some good features like playlists and a web interface, which can be used over a network.

They usually keep it updated to support the latest players, but I don't know if it supports the new Zen yet.

Ok, but it's just listening to music from PC and not from Zen through PC.

I decided to purchase an Altec Lansing Speaker dock set up for my ZEn
http://www.alteclansing.com/index.ph...iproduct_id=67

It comes with a Universal MP3 Cradle
I can place my Zen front and center (4" AUX cable included.)

Remote control, nice Base and good projection for my needs.

The best thing about it is I go tmine for less than $100.00

It sits nicely on my pc desk on a shelf above my pc.

I plug n my Zen and viola.
The user interface playing ZEN loaded songs through pc is not that convenient & limiting.
