Default Speaker docks

Anyone seen these new speaker docks for the Vision:M?

and

I wanna get the X-Fi one myself but it'll probably be at least $500 (it does have a 135watt subwoofer) and there's only so much a teenager such as myself can buy!

looks like the Z600 should be out the 24th for $400

quote from Engadget

'Alright Zen fanboys, your Singaporean mothership has just come out with a new dock for that Zen Vision: M, dubbed the Creative X-Fi Sound System Z600. Like it says in the name, this dock has that new X-Fi stuff that Creative touts as being able to restore compressed audio to CD quality. Of course there's also the usual inclusions, like a remote, an 8-inch woofer and a pair of tweeters to round out the setup as well; the gear can be yours when it drops in the US on November 24 for $400. Creative also announced a couple other sound docks, the PlayDock Z500 and the TravelSound Zen V -- but if you're an astute reader of Engadget, you already knew about those well before the official announcement.'

I'll try and get both of them! I really like the idea of a 24 watt subwoofer in an enclosure that small-and 24 watts is more than enough. There's some other great features like a built in antenna for the Vision:m's FM radio and video out with a free video cable. Not sure about the 8 C batteries required to power it but I will rarely be out of range of a wall plug. I think it looks great as well and much more ergonomic than this little doozy http://www.apple.com/ipodhifi/

Those look nice. I can only hope I will see one of them in a store sometime. I don't buy stuff like that, that I can't see first hand, and get a feel of how well it works.

It torks me off to no end, that all the shelves are filled with iCrap, and not anything for any other player. If a store sells a Creative product, they should sell the goodies that go with it as well.

Anyhow, it is a lot cheaper to just buy a y-splitter, and run your player through your home stereo, if you have the option.

Yeah, but for poor shmucks like me who have a PC for a home stereo this is perfect.

P.S. I've heard the X-FI stuff and it's awesome! I recommend the headphone 'virtual surround sound' option. It's great.

Default Anyone else looking forward to the PlayDock?

I can't wait to get one. Everything I ever wanted my Zen to do in one accessory.

That's really cool, especially the ability to output to the TV for videos and stuff. Bit out of my price range though, although I recently picked up these:

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...ccessories.htm

And they've improved my listening fun no end, they really do sound good for what they cost as well, my mates are well impressed (and yes, I know they're kind of rubbish compared to what some people here will probably have, but if you're on a bit of a budget then they're not a bad choice).

Yea, that's pretty nice looking. It'd be ideal for your computer's sound system.

I don't see anything about a video out jack though. That's one of the things I liked about the play dock, along with it's portability.

the specs say it comes with a video cable, so I'd assume (would pay to double check) that it does do video out.

I ordered one Sunday from onsale.com and right afterward they sent me an email saying my account would be debited as soon as the shipped it, but expected shipping date was April! So I promptly cancelled the order and thought that was that until I noticed that they had charged my account. When I called to find out what was up, they said they couldnt cancel the order because it had already been shipped. If thats the case, thats fine with me.

Anyone have any experience with them? Think they are really sending one my way, as I write this?

Oh yeah, hi to everyone. I'm from Texas (but am NOT a Bush fan) and I'm too old to have a Zen (at least according to my daughter), and I have had my 30gb for about a year, but it is currently RMA -but not by its fault - something stupid I did.

OK, that's bizarre; I did not think these things really existed yet. I am guessing, based on no info whatsoever, that April is right and the person you spoke to is wrong.
