Thanks for the update, it really is a great program and I can't sing its praises highly enough. Its so simple and easy to use, and now I can even synch my videos to it.

Thanks again, much appreciated

hey guys, new version time! 0.4.2.0

The big new feature in this version is that if you upload a video with the file manager, a video thumbnail to show in the player is automatically created. To do this, walkmanmtp needs the FFmpeg.exe binary in the same directory as walkmanmtp.exe. Any ffmpeg binary should work but the one that I use is Gianluigi Tiesi's build (scroll down to the link that says 'Download FFmpeg svn'. then put ffmpeg.exe in the same folder as walkmanmtp.exe)

There are other bugfixes which are listed in the change log. Enjoy!

dr. zoidberg: thanks a lot for this tool! I've been using this since the first public release and it saved me lots of pain with the WMP (yeah I don't like it and I'm not using it as well).
I just wonder what are the plans for the future releases? Do you plan it to become a some sort of synchro tool?

For future releases, I plan mostly bug fixes and UI improvements. I don't foresee any major new features, since it's to a level that I'm happy with what it does. What do you mean by syncro tool? Like synchronizing a music library?

I think it's a reference to an auto-sync function (hook to computer and auto-detect possibly). Glad you made a very useful prog for the Sony's (and a few others I imagine?).

Yeah, right. Exactly what WMP does - transfering music. It would be cool having that My problem is, that I do not like the whole WMP crap. And transfering via UMS is bothersome sometimes, because although it's tagged fine, sometimes certain data like genre don't appear. So I have to delete from the player and copy again. Then it mostly works.. Seems like a bug to me

Well, you can already transfer music via the File management tab or complete albums via the albums tab. As far as making a music library management tool, it will never happen. It really wasn't on my original plan

Does anyone have any experience making this work with the NWZE436? It doesn't seem to work. Which is a shame, because it looks awesome.

Default Is it possible to adjust your software for Video arranging in Walkman itself

Hi,

I find it difficult to view the video clips due to too many file i loaded in my walkman (mostly music video).

I figure it out that the walkman sort it according to the recent date the movie was added. Is there any software that can alter the date added?
correct me if i'm wrong.

Anyways do you guys have alternative ways to arrange the video files as we like in the Walkman view (Not viewing in PC).
Video setting - Thumbnail with details I think.

Regards...

I think it would be possible to add it to WalkmanMTP, where it adds the files in a certain order to make sure they appear in the expected order on the player. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of time right now

Default errors from out of the blue

Have been using WMTP for a while now, with no problems. Then suddenly today it has been playing up. After connecting Walkman to PC and starting up WMTP, it says

"Error initializing 'WALKMAN'
Cannot process request because the process (2404) has exited. in System"

[Click "OK"]

"There was an error initializing WALKMAN. Continue at your own risk"

[Click "NO"]

"Could not close MTPAxe"

[Click "OK"]

I tried unzipping the files again, but it still happens. (Not every time - sometimes it works as normal.) The Walkman itself seems to be working as it should.

What gives? Any ideas?

Hi, I tried using this software with SONY NWZ-S739F and it worked great!

However, I've got 1 request...would you be able to at a "Random Sort" function for the playlist besides the ascending & descending sort?

Thanks!

Wasn't there a way to use WalkmanMTP without installing WMP10 as well, it just required some of the files from the WMP10 installer?

Course, maybe this thread and project is dead. Dr.Zoidberg hasn't been seen since Dec.2008 :-/
