Seems like Creative concentrated to support rather newer cards than all of them. There were some firmware updates that added support to more types so that list on Creative's page is rather outdated.

Hi,
I've just tried putting my SDHC card (8GB Transcend class 6 TS8GSDHC6 which I think I found on the supported list) into my 16GB Zen, and when I go to the memory card menu, and select any of the submenus I get: Media not detected Please insert media I've tried reformatting a couple of times (as FAT32). Does the allocation size matter? Any ideas? Thanks, Jonny |

Do not format SD cards with Windows. Windows formatting doesn't adhere to the SD specs, use this app instead: http://panasonic.jp/support/global/c...formatter.html (download link is at the bottom of the page).

Just an FYI Jonny: The issue I believe with the Window's format program not meeting the sd card specs is that it leaves much of the data area unwritten when formatted. The sd card format program will do an actual format to all the bits/sectors of the card. It will take a little longer, but you will have a correctly formatted and functioning sd card. There maybe more, but this is the main reason I'm aware of. |

Good idea, Valdr. I found out about this Panasonic app because there are similar issues with SDHC cards in my Cowon D2.

Perhaps (very likely) im missing something here, but i cant figure out how to get the SD Card slot to work. I want to load video onto it, but cant find it. I have a toshiba 4 gig SDHC. I would imagine it would be next to my 'storage media' (under my zen) but it is not.

Try looking at it in windows explorer. If you still can’t see it, it might need to be formatted…read this thread http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...ad.php?t=26822

Are you putting it into your computers card reader or into the zen and the zen into the comp?

Try Memory Card -> Removable Disk and then plug your Zen. You'll get a new drive (which is UMS btw.)

I had a very similar issue last night, using a TS8GSDHC6 which is on the supported SDHC card list. I was seeking within a 30 minute mp3 file on the SDHC card, and the screen went black. I had to press the reset button.
I've been able to use the SDHC card on the player today though. I also noticed that one of my audible files (in internal memory) refused to play this morning, and I had to transfer it over again. I don't know if that was a side effect of the reset. Jonny |

Question -
Do pictures (jpegs) need to converted to view on the Zen, or should just about any jpeg from a basic digital camera be viewable on the Zem? |

Most should view fine, but the larger they are the slower the player is. The creative media explorer shrinks them down to about 40k.

Both; I have copied over my high resolution photos without scaling them down and they work (and look) outstanding. You can also set the Zen to scale them down for smaller sizes (to help save space) if you prefer (they still look great). I do this just because I like to have an exact copy as a backup, as well as the convenience of carrying around my photos.

As I said in the tile, I wondered if there was a maximum storage capacity for SD cards in the ZEN. I have heard of other players that limit the storage size to 1GB or 2GB and I just wanted to know if it was the same for ZEN.
