8 GB Fuze in hand. Review being updated.

I got my hands on an 8GB View from Best Buy in PA today. I'm playing with it now and recording my first impressions and things that are important to me. I'm doing on Sandisks Sansa forum though. I'm not doing it in two places, so here is the link to the Sandisk forum.

So far I am extremely happy with this player. It is quick, feels solid and sounds great. And at only $130 for 8 Gig, it's a steal.

Brick and Motor (especially Best Buy for Sandisk Sansas) get the product first (target marketing advantage). Other retailers like online stores get them later. I was impatient and paid for the taxes and gas.

Several people have found that although your local Best Buy may not have the Fuze on display, they may have them stored away in a locked cabinet or "out back." Also, the Best Buy employee you ask about the Fuze may or may not know that they are actually in the store ... so if you're desperate, ask the least clueless-looking employee you see. ;-)

What about fastforwarding (ff) the song, how fast it is when you doing this?

Sliver and Fast Questions

The silver is not as "silver" as one might think. Very muted color. Does not show scratches. I'm not a silver fan, but I like the silver fuze.

Fast Forward -- seems comparable to most -- reasonable times when listening to a long title such as a book.

The Walmart ad does it the most justice. Not sure that a picture can express the fact that it is more dark Gray, not really silver. Meanwhile, see Walmart Ad for an idea. I think the real color is a little darker than shown on the Walmart image... It is really a nice color. Doesn't look like a toy. There is also a user image here

It's actually a lot faster than the e200. As it FFs, the steps gradually increase. I have a 36 minute song, and I got from beginning to end in about 15 seconds.

Can the Fuze remember one auto-bookmark on each audiobook and podcasts? If so, can you tell if there is a limit to the total number of auto-bookmarks the device can remember?
