Default How to turn your E200 into a lamp

Turn off The mp3 Put it to "Hold" press "menu" Quickly press the "Select button" hold it for about 3 seconds. The scroll wheel will light up. If you want to stop this press "menu" button for 13 seconds.

I am not responsible for any damages that went wrong when trying this.

Default Flashlight

Of course if you're using Rockbox, there's a Flashlight application.

I have tried this on my e280R sansa and didn't work but an alternative way would be put it into hold and power it on and quickly hold the select button for a few seconds. I have no idea how to turn it off other than take out the battery. Which is quite easy for me since i don't even have any of the 8 screws in my sansa. Hope this provides entertainment for people.

Hey it worked on my Sansa...without using Rockbox.

And to turn it off, instead of taking out the battery you just have to hold the power button for 15 seconds(although its much less sometimes).

It worked on my e260 but I don't find it useful. The light isn't powerful. Like you said, it's good for emergencies but other than that, it's useless.

Default Not A Glitch

This is the Manufacturing Mode. The screen will be blank and the scroll wheel will be lit. This is usually used to try to restore the original bootloader with e200 tool on a bricked e200.

Like pablo said, this is in no way a glitch, it a special mode you should not play with.

Agreed. Manufacturing mode is used to access the I2C ROM. I would not recommend triggering this mode just to light the scroll wheel.
