Hi,
I have Sony Walkman NWZ-S618F. I have downloaded "Sony Media Manager" and installed it. Each time I click on the icon I get this message : Media Manager Has Encountered a Problem and Needs to Close Why? Has anybody else got this problem? I use Windows XP SP2 and don't have any problems with myriads of other software on my machine. Thanks, Athena |

Try reinstalling the prog & see if you have WMP11 also. If not then update and try the Sony program again. You can also use any media management program to put music on your Sony (except iTunes that is
)

Hi,
Have reinstalled it at least 6 times and then complete uninstall with a special software that totally uninstalls every key even in the registry. But nothing changed. Have WMD11 installed long time ago. Is there an older version of this software that might be working. ARe you sure it is not a bug in the software itself? Athena |

Most likely its just giving you a hard time. I've only used the Sony Media Manager once and I really didn't like it so I removed it from my comp. Thats also why I mentioned using another program as the SMM is a very outdated program itself. See if MediaMonkey, Realplayer, or J.River are more to your liking if you can't get it to work as these are much better at managing your library.

Thanks, OK, no problem about SMM if it is not good. Among the other free software that are available, which one do you recommend as the best one for arranging the files and folders in my Sony? I mostly listen to Podcasts and want to have a software that can arrange and sort them effortlessly and also synchronize them easily. I download them with Itunes and then transfer them to WMP11 to transfer to my sony player as I don't think Itunes can do it for my Sony? I want a software that can do it better than WMP11.

ZenChick would recommend MediaMonkey as 1 of the best (and many have backed up her claims as true) and I personally use J.River Media Center - both FREEWARE!!! Realplayer works also but it used to crash w/my D2. It's pretty good with my S618 though (but I'd recommend MM & J.River before it). Try them out and let us know if they work for you also.
PS: You can also use Windows Explorer to drag&drop the files to their correct location on your Sony - just a thought so you have more options.
