When my zen is turned on it will start up and display a Firmware problem but will just stay at that screen and it wont continue onto recovery mode like usual. I have also tried to hold the play button while booting up but it still does the same thing. is there anyway other way to get into recovery mode or maybe a way to unbrick it if that is my problem?

It doesn't sound like you may be releasing the Play button in time to enter Recovery Mode. When done correctly, it should either go directly into Recovery Mode or briefly flash the Firmware Problem then go into Recovery Mode.
To reset the Zen V and get into Recovery Mode: 1. Use a paper clip and insert it into the Reset hole located below the power switch. 2. Press and hold the Play button while powering on your player. 3. When the player displays the Creative logo, release the Play button. Once you get it into Recovery Mode, reload the firmware and do a cleanup. Hopefully this will get you back in good shape.
