Default consideration

i am thinking of buying a zen v plus
but there seem to be a lot of problems with it if i read the topics in this forum

so, is it still a good choice?

ps, can i use my travel charger on the zen v plus? (so i don't have to charge it by computer usb)

The Zen V can be a liitle picky when it comes to AC charging. Those USB chargers can be "hit or miss" as well. What's the rated output specs of that adapter you linked too above?

It's really up to you. Most people post to get help with problems so that is always reflected in forums more so than anything.

What kind charger exactly?

just a normal travelcharger wich has an usb port in it and a port to mains electricity
i used it for my samsung yp-k5

is ask this because i saw a creative travel charger, only for zen

the creative zen power adapter, wich is like 30 euro

if i only can use the creative zen adapter, i won't buy it
because i'm buying the zen because its so cheap, its better to spend the 30 euro on a other mp3 player wich CAN use normal travel charger

I believe the Zen V suffers from the same USB charging requirement as the Micro line of players. See this thread and post for more details.

Yeah, the Universal Charger is the safest bet, but expensive.

It can also come in handy if you decide to ever get a different Creative model of player as well. (Even though the newer Zen/X-Fi doest have this unique charging requirement).

mine says, 5.5v 500mA plus/minus 50mA
so, will it work?

i'm a bit confused
and i know the creative charger will work, but the thing is
i'd rather spend the 30 bucks on another mp3 player

Most likely no since many USB chargers does have the data connections (power connections only) required to initiate proper charge.

wait a sec, does the creative zen not require the creative mains charger???
so i can use my travel charger on the creative zen?
i'm willing to spend the extra bucks on the zen in stead of the zen V plus if it can use it

edit: specs of my travel charger
input: 100-240V AC50/80Hz 150mA
output: -_-_-_- 5.5v 500mA plus/minus 50mA

No, it doesn't. See this thread for more info, as well as the Zen FAQ (See my signature) under the Battery/Charging section.

Since it is a 5.5v charger, I would say no.... to be safe. The Zen charges from a 5v source, the same as the Zen V. However, the advantage of the newer Zen is that it doesn't require the usage of special chargers like the Zen V. Many 5v AC chargers work just fine with it (see the thread above).

but what do you mean with to be safe?
to be safe as in don't buy it because it might not work
or
don't use it because its bad for the battery

i could also buy a 5v ac charger :P
thanks again for your help you're very helpful
