Default Zen problem. Washer

I accidentally left my Zen in my pocket and washed my jeans with the zen still inside. Washed it, dryed it, and now its messed up (yeah i know). When connected via USB, it works fine, PC see's it, it goes on dock mode but when I take off the USB, it doesnt turn on, resetted and everything. Question is, anyone had this problem before and how did you go about to fixing it?

Sounds like there is something wrong with the battery or the battery charging circuit, or worse..both! not sure how you could go about fixing it!

If you let it dry completely, your Zen may be fine (for the most part). However, batteries do not like to get wet. It sounds like your Zen may be fine, but may need a new battery. Unfortunatley, the Zen has a non-removable battery, so replacing your self currently isn't really a solution. You can check with Creative to see if they can install a new battery for you.

same exact thing happened to me, i let it dry for about a week and it worked fine until yesterday, now it shows a white screen. everything else works fine. i reset it a few times and plug and unplug the zen from the computer and it goes back to normal then i flick the screen and it goes back to white

im probably gonna get a new one at futureshop because i have the extended warrenty.

That sounds like a good idea.

You have a warranty, I would not ignore it just because the Zen appears to be working at this moment in time since displaying possible hardware issues..... but it's your call. I've seen it happen too many times. The consumer doesn't return the product in time to take advantage of a warranty for repair and ends up out the product and the money.

That sucks! Are you positive it is ruined? I have seen a couple people that have done the same and their Zen still works to this day. The key is to not turn it back on while wet at any time and give it sufficient time to dry. Sometime a hair dryer or even placing the Zen into a plastic bag with those silica packs or even rice can speed up the drying time.

Don't turn it on! Did you turn it on? If you let it dry out over enough time and use the rice in the bag trick (nice trick BTW)I give you a 70% chance it will work again. You may have to replace the battery but 70% chance it will/could work again. 1st instinct is to turn it on, hopefully you fought through that. Good luck

Yeah, most likely the battery may need replaced.

nope i didnt turn it on! tho the funny thing was i put my
washing in the dryer so my ZEN was super dry lol

my washing was dirty tho coz of my work clothes with
sand and dust i think it went inside it...
the fake sd card think scrtches the inside of the main board
thats the sand so im not sure it will work again..

so ill take it apart and try to dry it more....

anyway the other day i couldnt find my mobile phone
i tryed calling it ... nope lol
then the next day while digging with the bobcat at work i
find my little phone lying there all messed up!!!

my ZEN and then my phone in the same week...... gutted!

why?

Yeah, the sand part doesn't sound good. Good luck.

Ouch. I wish I could do that to my cell phone. It's employer owned.
