Angry I don't have my original firmware anymore

I seem to be the only one with this problem. I have seen all the warnings that say "Don't upgrade firmware unless you have your new firmware downloaded." Well I didn't have it ready cause I didn't really know what I was doing. So now when I try to upgrade the firmware it doesn't get recognized. How do I fix this problem, or is it unfixable. I have tried nearly everything I have read. Registry changes for the usb pots, uninstallations, device manager fixes. My ZVM will dock and is recognized by windows vista, but the firmware update will not recognize it. If it is unfixable how do I get a repair order in to Creative since they only seem to want me to have to drop another 250 to get another one? Please help.

Hello bahgweed. Welcome. Since you are running Vista, you will need to find an XP system just to upgrade the firmware. You may want to try using the Recovery Tool instead. I've read it works with Vista, but haven't tested it yet.
