Help me! Volume Restriction is just plain annoying...

Hi there,

I have just got a Zen Vision M 30gb and I'm already becoming frustrated with the volume restriction imposed by the EU model. I had a Touch before this and the volume went much higher on that.

I have done a search on here and have tried to followe the advice to load US firmware.

I go onto the Creative site and change to North America, I go to 'Support' and then it automatically redirects me to 'Worldwide' support. As I have 30gb model I have been going to the bottom of the page and picking the 'If your model is not listed click here' option rather than choosing the 60gb model photo. Is this the right thing to do?

It brings up the 1.62.02 Firmware for the 30gb but when I looked at my settings I had 1.62.02e already loaded on.

I gave it a go but there has been absolutely no change in the volume level.

Any advice??? Someone help please!

1.62.02 is the US firmware. The e at the end stands for europe so there will have been a change if you've done it right. Does it now not have an "e" at the end?

Despite loading the 1.62.02 firmware on it still has the 'e' at the end. When I was doing it, it came up with a message saying that it was the same version and asking if I wanted to continue.
I don't know what to do now!

When you go to Creative 's site change your (country/region )to North America to get the U.S. version of the firmware that doesn't have the volume restriction & save the setting then go to this link find http://support.creative.com/Products...me=MP3+Players your player & download what you need.

I've have sorted it in the end. I did download the US firmware but because mine was the european version of the same one it wasn't updating it. After doing a bit more searching of this site in the end I removed the firmware through the recovery mode and reinstalled the US one. Got rid of the 'e' and now I'm enjoying music levels that could possibly make my ears bleed!
