Does anyone know if the E430-series has UMS support for file transfer? I've read that the S630/S730 series probably have changed to UMS, but if the E430 has it too I'll probably buy that one. I just want my player to work well across different operating systems, I use primarily Linux and want to avoid MTP if possible. Would be nice to get a good replacement for my Creative MuVo, which although old, is primarily plug and play and works anywhere.

i certainly can't guarantee it will be but i'd be amazed if it isn't. all other recent sony players support ums. i can't see them making such a backward step now.

Even the A81x series, which are officially all MTP devices, can be forced into UMS (even in Windows). I don't see how the newer Walkmans would be any different.
