Well, it started with "Playback error" on every song i tried to play, when i turned it on in class, so i restarted it and, boom recovery mode that does nothing.. so I'm guessing I'm screwed haha,

Did you tried the "cleanup"?

Try "format", then "cleanup", then "reboot" if it will let you.

When you say Recovery Mode that does nothing, what do you mean? Does it do a Cleanup with no error?

Hey, you answer more questions than almost anybody I've ever seen Creative should have you on the payroll as much help as you give their support squad

Clean up wouldnt do anything, i chose it and left it like that for 12 hours, and nothing happened, format would say harddisk problem, and reboot just always goes back to that screen, i'm just gonna get the zen x-fi theres no hope for my loved player haha

Ahhhh hello. I would consider opening up the ZVM to see if the drive connector isn't loose or if a reseat would help. Plus, you may be able to get to hear it better with it a little open to see if the drive is making any additional noise it isn't supposed to.

i did open it, the HDD doesnt make any noise at all, its just dead
