I have a ZVM (30gb) and It recently stopped working. After reviewing the threads I triedto use the recovery mode and use disk clena up. It seems to not display any activity as to cleaning up the drive. I then tried to reload firmware and I get a display of "Harddisk Problem". I'm hoping not to have to replace the drive. Any ideas?

Is it making clicking noises? Harddisk problem usually means drive needs replacement. search google for zen repair.

Sometimes a Cleanup can take a long time to finish. How long did you give it to complete? The hard disk error does indicate you have an issue with the drive or connection. If a warranty issue isn't a problem, you can open it up to get a better look or try reseating the connector to see if that helps.
These should help: Here is the ABI disassembly guide. Here is a video of a disassembly. Here is the hard drive replacement thread. Here is the new tested hard drive swap thread. Here is the hard drive connector type thread. Here is another disassembly video.
