Default [Information] Samsung P3
Hi, so Samsung France got a prototype of P3 last week.
People could have seen it at the Geek' Live in Paris: http://mp3.generationmp3.com/2008/10...ein-de-photos/
But it seems that nobody asked for seeing it.
For the moment, only my contact at Samsung France and Greg (gmp3 admin) saw it in reality. As for me I have a picture and some infos (more later probably)

Of course I can't share the picture because the P3 will only be announced at the CES in january.

What I can tell you today:
Mp3 players and mobilephone division in Samsung Korea merged.
So the P3 looks like the latest Samsung mobile phones (player addict, player style etc...)
That means there is a beautiful haptic touchscreen. And the interface looks like on mobiles phones with widgets.... So more customization than on P2.
The P3 looks like more robust as it is built in aluminium

There is no wifi (but we don't care, it is an mp3 player, not a computer) but unfortunately there is also no SD slot.
Still bluetooth.

And a DTT (Digital terrestrial television) version should be released in France

Is the no-wifi sure? I was hoping it will support wi fi...damn it...Isn't there a single player with touch screen and wifi at the same time?

Archos and Touch players.
That's enough.
P2 and P3 are MP3 players, not PMP-micro computer - coffee machine players

Awesome, I still think the P2 is better, there is something unique about the P2 that the P3 seems to not show, but I have to say that the P3 is supposedly awesome...

wifi would be a nice bonus. wouldnt mind surfing the web every now and then. i dont see whats to OMG about haptic touch. thats all they seemed to add in extra.

No WiFi = fail.

I was hoping that the next P2 would be great.

EDIT: Also I would think it would be a smart move to release it before Christmas...

EDIT2: You don't need heated seats or air conditioning in a car, but they are nice to have, just like Wi-Fi.

so basiclly the p3 is basiclly the p2 exept for haptic so far so i dont really c a point on changing mp3 player now if it had wifi that would b another awesome story but will c wat the p3 haves to offer i hope it looks super cool like the p2

wi fi is useless....exp. on a 3inch screen, and an nonmultitouch touchscreen.., browsing will be a nightmare

i find bluetooth MUCH MUCH usefull, especially the send file feature.

Even if it is hard to browse, it is still nice to be able to do it.
Also check e-mails and stuff, and finally iTouch users can't say, haha we have wifiz and u don'tz.

I'm not convinced.
And as the P2 battery life is not great without wifi, I can't imagine with wifi...
Apple and Archos are masters in this domain. If there was wifi on P3, people would only say "wifi is better implemented on my Touch, P3 is bad..."

And latest news, there will be a P4 which will be the top-of-the range. So maybe with wifi?

oh very nice.
i've been waiting for the p3. but what about the size? personally i think the size of the p2 is perfect for its purpose and i wouldn't want to carry around a bigger mp3 player.

Hmm it's difficult to say with the single picture I have. I would say a bit bigger than the P2

Hmm, in terms of the P3's screen, is it the same 3" LCD screen (colors, resolution, etc..) as the P2, or have they changed the size or the technology (like to an amoled screen)? I'm not too worried about the Wi-fi by any means as long as Bluetooth is just as well implemented as the P2 was...

For the screen, it seems that it is the same size and greg (gmp3 admin) believes that it is Amoled. But not sure for the moment. My contact at Samsung will get more infos in few days.

thats awesome.. but unfortuantely.. i don't have the money to afford expensive mp3 players every year..lol.. soo i'm happy wid my p2, and i'm probably gonna use it, as long as the battery lasts... till i get the money to buy something new..
