Same here, only XviD/MPEG4-SP/AVI seems to really work in 720p resolutions. At least no other codec/container worked for me so far (h.264/WMA/MP4/MKV/etc).

Exactly - nothing of importance got fixed... at all. Still gigantic gaps and clicks between audio tracks, still obnoxious popups reminding me of crap i don't care about, no video skipping, no way to change font color, no MPEG2/VOB/FLV support, no SDHC integration, and so on...

Only real improvement seems to be the zoom in the image viewer. It's not abysmal anymore. Too bad I don't watch porn on the O2, otherwise I would care about that. And it only took them 5 months to realize the zoom sucks...

This firmware is - for me - actually a step back, rather than forward. One of the few features that worked (and that I really use a lot) is now broken: pan&scan gets reset after each movie. Before 1.28 it stayed at the desired pan&scan level until the next reboot. It's more than annoying having to adjust pan&scan again after each 7 minute cartoon episode I'm watching.
