Got my zen yesterday. and i must say. Amazingly, it's music quality beats the zen micro. It's rich and warm and just absolutely beautiful.

Anyway, i gave my mp3 a full charge today. Took 2.5 hours instead of the stated 4. I've yet to use my zen micro charger

anyway, just wondering. Is there a process which people should do before they use their mp3 properly to improve/maximise battery life?
Like some discharge/charge process?

also, about the backlighting. After 5 seconds (my setting), the screen does dim. But it's still very bright. Is there a way to virtually shut off the screen?
I heard using the hold or something, but i tried that and the zen didn't change its lighting.

Otherwise a flawless player.
Might not even install the software. Probably just drag and drop and use mm. unless i run into some problems with video codecs.

cheers, jay

Oh! For some reason, the backlighting/hold technique just worked!
I was using radio at the time.

Congrats on getting the new Zen.

- Get used to putting the Zen on hold to turn of the display as much as possible.
- Adjust your backlight lower
- Adjust backlight timer lower

Like some discharge/charge process?
No, no need with lithium-ion batteries. The first charge is no different than any other.

You may want to check out the Zen FAQ sometime.
