Lightbulb Refurbish ZVMs with bigger hard drives Creative !!!

I just had this idea.

Creative are quite willing to sell Zen Vision M players which are refurbished.

Since they don't (apparently) make new ones anymore, why don't they offer to install bigger hard-drives in the refurbished players.

It would be easy for Creative to do this on several fronts:

[1] Customers want bigger capacity hard drive ZVMs.

[2] Customers are still willing to pay high prices for second hand ZVMs. Check ebay listings for examples.

[3] Creative have to open up these players for inspection anyway, so a hard drive swap would be easy to do.

[4] Creative has the business channels to economically obtain these high capacity hard drives, including the Toshiba 240Gb version if required.

[5] Creative needs the extra money too.

So ... why not do it Creative.

Its a win, win, win situation.

Yeah, that would be nice. Apparently they don't want to put anymore effort into them besides just refurbing to original state. I guess, they will sell either way in their eyes. Maybe the added changes aren't enough to justify what it would take to pull it off. Who really knows...

there are some BRAND NEW 60GB players STILL at my local electronical store, selling for $499 Aus dollars/$320 US Dollars each. I'm amazed there are still some new ones left.

Yeah, I'm surprised as well. Perhaps lower that price tag and they will dissappear quickly. Any thoughts of selling them here in the Classifieds?

This business would not lower it's price tags... They have a 16GB ipod touch for the same price as a 32GB in other stores

I did think of buying then selling but I reckon no-one would pay over $500 AUS for a brand new 60GB ZVM!! (I wouldn't!)

Yeah, it sounds like they are over-priced. That's too bad. It would be interesting to see how much brand new ZVM's would sell for.

Yeah. They would be extremely popular if they upped the volume in them, to something like the ipod classic. 120GB would be nice

Yes, that would be nice, but it won't happen.
