Hi
I have a new Sansa Fuze 8gb with the last firmware and it seem to be unable to read some id3. All information are there, ID3v1 and ID3v2, but it show me Unknown. Sometime it's only for the Album name, sometime it's both album and artist. I really not understand why, I have compared this file with others and I don't see any difference. Do you have any idea?? Thx! |

Are you talking about ID3v2.3? As far as I know, the Fuze works the best with ID3v2.3. All the other versions have issues.

I have fine tuned all my taging techniques for the Fuze and so far i have had perfect success! If you are having problems with your tags then just bring them up with mp3tag editor and Highlight the mp3 and then Right Click and Hit Remove All Tags! Then just retag everything through mp3tag and you should have no problems!
My Experience: For some reason even when mp3tag editor shows you that everything is correct it may in fact not be especially if you just used it to overwrite the existing tags and did not remove them first! The Fuze will reward you with perfect tags if you take the time to remove any and all tags preexisting on the mp3 and redo them yourself! Hope this helps! Peace! |

Thx for the tips!
I used mp3tag as you said, but I haven't removed all tag, there is around 1000 tracks and I don't want to retag all! But I clean unwanted information. I just let Artist, Album, Track name, Year and it work well. No more unknown Thx!! |

You're welcome. It is just a small issue, but good to hear that you got it working.

Just make sure all your tags are in ID3v2.3 ISO format (mp3tag can do this for you). Versions prior to 2.3 and the unicode encodings have problems. ID3v2.3 ISO always works.
