Default Wall Charger Question

I know that the manual recommends 5V and a min of 500mA but I have a charger that has an output of 5.2v 450mA. Would there be a problem if I use this? Or would it just take longer to charge?

What is your wall charger designed for? Is it a USB compatible wall charger or what?

It is a usb wall charger (although I think it was designed for a Nintendo DS).

I just want to know why the manual specifies a minimum amperage of 500mA and if I use anything below that will it cause harm to the player or the battery (or battery life).

Not likely that will cause a problem. The only thing that might be an issue is if the voltage rises a lot. If the player gets a lot warmer than it does when you are charging from PC or other chargers, then I would avoid it. The Motorola chargers are so cheap and plentiful it should be very easy to find one at over 500.
The minimum of 500mA most likely comes from the USB spec.

Thanks. Good to know that there is no weird reason that they had a min amperage (since a lower current shouldn't be a bad thing).

Well, I'm going to see if I can return the charger (the place I got it from is out of business). If I can't then I guess I'll see how i works.

My Zen V Plus is busted (my fault) and just bought a pilot but still have the wall charger from the zen. It says DC 5.0v ~ max: 700mA ~ min: 150mA . Is this ok to use with the pilot?

Do the plugs fit?

It looks like both are USB Mini, and so yes, you can use it... Probably
