After the the major hit of the Samsung YP-P2 in January Samsung will release the Samsung YP-P3! IT consist of new Vista like menus and widgets along with Flash support, widgets (weather, time, calender),Samsung Haptic touch interface, more audio files support and much more.

It also has a maximum capacity of 32GB, It is aluminum rather than plastic. The 480x272 resolution, 3-inch display, Bluetooth, FM radio, voice recorder and have not changed. This product is about 30 hours of music and 5 hours of video game play is possible.
Information for this product is not yet public, but the latest Samsung MP3 players will be announced at CES 2009.

BTW, how can you have "weather" without Wi-Fi or some sort of internet access? The P3 needs a web browser! I love my P2, but I really don't see a reason to upgrade for just flash, weather and haptic feedback (which doesn't really appeal to me anyways).

Also, why is aluminum better than plastic? I thought when the Iphone went from aluminum to plastic, plastic was better. Now aluminim is better? Won't it dent easier? C'mon Samsung! Show us something innovative! Don't be followers, be leaders!!!

You will have weather widget with Emodio, like "datacast"
Insofar as the weather doesn't change every second, you plug in your P3 to the computer on the morning and you have the weather for the rest of the day and maybe for the next days

I just saw that on Engadget. It looks alright, but honestly I could do without the widgets and the animated butterfly. Hopefully the interface is customizable, so you can make it look like the "matrix" style menu or whatever it was called on the P2. Less is more sometimes. Other than that, it looks pretty good, except the interface seems kind of sluggish in places.

the UI looks nice. I just hope they speed it up a little because my only gripe with the p2 is that the OS is sluggish.

Samsung has done a nice job with the GUI, however from the look of the widgets I'd say that the new interface will appeal more to an Asian rather than a Western sensibility.

Frankly, I think the widget/interface is something more to show-off to others and worthy of about 30 minutes entertainment, before I'd shut it off (if possible). The widgets only make sense, if there are a boatload of really useful apps.

Text input should be via the soft-keyboard that is used for the dictionary.

No EQ using BT, is a major disappointment.. makes me wonder if the BT has been improved for easier connectability. Perhaps this will be adderssed via firmware, but more than likely it's a battery life issue. I'd be willing to sacrifice battery life for EQ control.
