F Series 120GB HDD upgrade is possible! Success story...

I used this Rockbox wiki as a guide:
ZIFToATAAdapter < Main < TWiki

It was a very tight fit, and took a few tries to close - but I got it to work. The key was to make sure the leads from the ZIF cable were not exposed, in any way.

Here's a pic of my finished product (it's an F40, but I use an F20 cover):

I bought the one at Dealextreme:

(notice that I added a review there, as well). Again, I would suggest buying at least two, in case you get a dud. Each adapter will come with one cable for a Toshiba drive, and one for a Hitachi drive.

It's the Toshiba MK1214GAH (8mm thick, dual platter). buy.com had a good deal, at the time. But probably eBay would be your best bet, right now. EDIT: CDW seems to have a good price ($119 US) - I just googled it.
