Default Remote for ZVM - looking for the REAL one

I recently purchased this:

http://www.amazon.com/EFORCITY-Remot...7991003&sr=8-2

It stinks. That's my review trashing it. I tried it, but after the way it acted I'm afraid it will damage my ZVM.

Anyone else seen/bought this?

Anyone know where I can get the REAL remote for a ZVM? They aren't on Creative's site anymore.

Thanks.

Thanks. I was trying to stay away from eBay (bad experiences), but I may have to go that route if I can't find it anywhere else.

Yeah, I understand. It is a good place to find hard to find items though.

I bought one about a year ago. It's flimsy and feels cheap, but it works. I dislocated the lock on the side working outdoors this summer but managed to take it apart and fix the button. My review: cheap, as in price and quality, but gets the job done.

Welcome Porterb1. Just to be clear, are you referring to the generic remote or the Creative brand?

Thanks, it's good to know that someone else has used this with no damage.

And yea, it is cheap. The lock switch appears to have the indicators backwards, unless I'm looking at it wrong. I would have thought the track buttons would be the left and right, and the volume buttons up and down, but on mine at least they're opposite, track is up and down, volume is left and right. Totally weird.

Would that really matter with its design though? I'm looking at it and I can't see how being left or right handed would make a difference.

Funny thing is it feels normal to me because I am primarily left handed. To others (right-handed folks) it seems backwards. I know logically it's not right at least for people that not lefties.

Yeah, but I don't really follow.... it looks like it would be the same for right handed people as well. Aren't you still moving your thumb left and right or up and down to control?

With the player connected to the control in my pocket it's upside down. So I'm working it from that position & some people can't get used to working it that way. A lefty alot of the time does things differently so for me it makes sense. By the way the Amazon price is a little high for that item. Mine was part of a bundle for $20.00 that included 10 more items.
