Rockbox: Clip v1

I've the same request that porio (post #438) :

I stayed away of the rockbox and ABY forums for a little more than 1 month, and now I find this saratoga 'casual' fix to the crash issue. Great improvement!!
But please, may I ask: when/why/how did the FM Radio stopped working? It was working really good!! (and I really love the multiple preset files feature).
was it something related to the Clip or to the general rockbox development?

I installed the last build on my V1 4 GB Clip yesterday, unfortunately i've had 4 codec failures. I had to install the firmware and the .rockbox directory again each time (on a side note the .rockbox directory is impossible to erase completely). It's a pity cause other than that they made an amazing job and everything works so smoothly

Saratoga can correct me if I’m wrong, but I was able to remove it completely when one of my clips died completely (wouldn't turn on at all). Since it was completely dead, I connected by sliding the lock on and while holding the center button I was able to get the pc to recognize it. I deleted off the rb stuff, formatted and re-loaded the latest fw. It now only boots to the original firmware.

I think his disk just got corrupted by a bug added the other day and fixed today. So if he reformats and then updates rockbox it shouldn't happen again.

@saratoga: Have you any knowledge of when v2 of the Clip will receive a port? I've heard a lot of good about RockBox but have been unable to test it for myself because of it's incompatibility with my players of choice. Any information would be helpful. Thanks.

Unfortunately, no one is working on it. So it'll be ready sometime after someone takes interest in it.

If I had to guess, probably once it gets really hard to find V1 Clips and Fuzes, people will be more interested in working on the newer models.

They're still working on the V1 Clip, as I understand it. Next in line will probably be the V2 Clip, and then maybe the Clip+....so I think you'll be waiting a while.

Sandisk hasn't even released a firmware update for the Clip+, so theres nothing to reverse engineer even if someone was interested in doing so.

Cant even access the stuff with the player in MSC mode? wheni switched my player over from MTP, other files showed up in the player.

You can't on the other Sandisk players, but if you find a way on your clip+, please let me know.

I didn't mean to sound impatient. I was just wondering. And when I wonder, I ask questions. I'm pretty content with the firmware that is already on my Clip. I've just been really curious about Rockbox since I first heard about a couple years ago.

JdGordon patched the new firmware and found how to check for a USB device connection before he bricked his clip+ while trying to update the mkamsboot program. So its definitely possible for people to start working on the Clip+ if they're interested.

actually I 've found lost of fw on duke's web page, but I couldnot understand which one of them is appropriate for my clip v2 ? hence I would like to ask you?
