Default need help with my creative zen vision m 30gb

ok its my friend and he gave it to me to see if i can fix it, so far all i and he know is that he left it in his brother room and the next day it was not working.

when you turn it on it never goes past the zen lettering that flash up on the page, so i am trying to download the firmware and see with happens, but i cant find where to download it so somebody help.

also it only works in recovery mode.

Welcome wgreenwood. Yeah it sounds like you need to do a Reload Firmware from within Recovery Mode and then exectute the firmware downloaded from Creative's site here.

ok now this realy sucks, i try re loading the firmware and gets harddisk failure , also when i turn the zen on when it gets stuck it makes loud clicking nose, i am guessing its the harddisk but i dont have the money to replace it so i guess i could try opening it and see if everything is connected right.

wish there was a way around it since its docks in recovery mode. and everything seems functional in recovery mode

Yeah, that's not good. The error together with the clicking....
The next step would be to try opening the ZVM, to check and see if the hard drive connector is disconnected or loose (I doubt since you are getting clicking noises (or try reseating the connector), or replacing the hard drive. These should help:
