I read the V plus uses full-speed USB which is much slower than high-speed USB 2.0. Would you say this is a problem with the V plus? Or is full speed fast enough?

The Zen V and the Zen V Plus both support USB 2.0.

But is that USB 2.0 full speed or USB 2.0 high speed? High speed is faster.

USB 2.0 is it. There isn't anything else within USB 2.0. The device either meets the 2.0 spec or it doesn't.
USB 1.0/1.1 - 1.5 MB/s (187.5 kB/s) - 12 MBb/s (1.5 MB/s) USB 2.0 - 480 MB/s (60 MB/s) USB 1.0 and USB 1.1 are often referred to as USB Full Speed and USB 2.0 referred to USB High Speed.

USB 2.0 can be full speed or high speed. USB 2.0 full speed is the same as USB 1.1 as you said.
Digital camera, MP3, and other elelctronics makers sometimes label their product as USB 2.0 full speed to make people thinks it's fast like USB 2.0 high speed, but it isn't. It's a marketing gimmic. Here is an article that explains that: http://www.photoxels.com/article-usb...ull-speed.html "Devices listed as simply USB 2.0 or USB 2.0 Full Speed are really using USB 1.1 standard." So whenever I see a device that's specs say USB 2.0, like the V+, I ask if it's full or high speed. |

Yeah, there are some shady practices with USB marketing. Like I said, it either meets the USB 2.0 spec or it doesn't, regardless of the marketing. USB 1.0, USB 1.1, or USB 2.0; nothing else. Any additional label is bullshit. It gets real bad with cables; see here.
