I have an 8gb Pilot which I bought "new" as they were closing down the line on ebay ("B" stock but they forgot to tell me that).
The player works fine except that there is some broken bit of something rattling around in there which when you shake the player makes it sound like a castinet. I know how to remove /replace the battery, and the trouble is not in that compartment. Is there any reasonably safe, first-do-no-harm way to get to the inside so I can remove this irritant? |

If you don't want to open it you can first remove the black plastic shield that separate the circuit board from the battery. If that's not the problem then there are two screws on each side of the battery compartment after you unscrew those you should be able to gently open it up.
