Default Using Zune software instead of WMP

Hello and many thanks to all that make this an excellent site.

I was wondering about the above - I live in Europe and have no Zune player, it would purely for use as desktop music player - and would appreciate any experiences. Two things especially - is album art resized to 200x200, like WMP? Does album art appear in the playlist views? My music is already carefully tagged, and I assume that I can check "make no media changes" or such as default.

Thanks again - not quite brave enough to just install and see, had enough trouble doing that with Another Famous Media Player.....!

-I think its actually 300x300 it will download, but i dont think it messes with the album art within the tags.
-The album art appears at the bottom of the screen when the play list plays.
-Right, just uncheck, it might already be unchecked by default. Just dont add any media till you check in the settings.

I love the Zune Mediaplayer, i use is almost elusively for a desktop media player. One of the great things i like about it is the drag and drop ID3 tagging. I know you mentioned that your stuff is already tagged, but if you have a stray tag or something not quite right, just for instance drag the stray song to the album or artist and its automatcally tagged.

Just install it, it dowesnt go nuts on your collection like WMP does. You can carefully add your music folders.

Additionally you will love the podcast directory.

when you download, please post back and tell us what you think.

Album Art from the Zune Marketplace is like 800 x 800. Just ckecked it in MP3Tag. And Zune software doesnt resize your album art.

Unfortunately album art does not appear in the playlists view, only in artists view and albums view. But like enzo said when you're playing a playlist the current track's album art will appear next to the progress bar.

And I totally agree with you enzo, the software rocks and is my main media player too now that there's finally a plug-in for last.fm (zuse).

Here's what my software looks like with some custom modifications:

Hi again,
My impression (not really had to much time)

32 minute install!
GUI - a little to pink/light for me, but intuitive.
Album art - I was annoyed, until I saw Machiventa's layout, now I'm worried that I'm just dumb!! The only "now playing" alternative (except visualisations) I found was the full-screen mosaic of album art. Many covers were duplicated though - some random script? Would have been nice to click-and-play from there, but I found no such option. My biggest beef with album art in WMP11/VMCE is the resizing to 200X200 (although I found a fix after a loooooooooong google), but Zune annoyed me by not resizing, but then not displaying my 600x600s in full size.

Have I missed something, or is Machiventa's NP screen a big mod?

And the id3tag edit function is great!
