So im new to this website and i love how there are different forums for different mp3 models/series.
![]() I've had my S639 for almost 6 months now and I still don't know how to create a playlist... I need to listen to songs while snowboarding without putting my whole Walkman on shuffle, how can i make playlists and not duplicate songs. I've tried using the software that Sony gives with the Walkman, I'm sorry, but it just sucks! And the drag and drop software doesn't let me create playlists, I've also tried searching on Google and this forum for help but no use ![]() Thanks for reading

Did you try Windows Media Player 11? Also, the Sony software may "suck" but it allows you to create a playlist. You could also try MediaMonkey although I think people have expressed that there are serious issues with some newer Sony players and MM.
Maybe you could be more descriptive as to the problem you are having with the included software and/or WMP? |

There are a two ways of creating a playlist in WMP....selecting the songs and right clicking to create a playlist or creating a playlist and adding the songs. I will refer you to a tutorial once I find one.

The problem is that your using the Sony software. Try WMP11, of Media Monkey. MM would be the better choice, so mheres a link: http://www.mediamonkey.com/

I have found WalkmanMTP to be a very helpful solution.
http://code.google.com/p/walkmanmtp/ Playlists are the programs main function. The program views all of the music loaded in your walkman and displays them on the left of your computer screen. You simply grab them and drop them onto a right-side folder for your playlists. It could not be simpler. Kevin |

Seems the suggestion I gave you wasn't even tried. Download the program and experiment a bit. Nothing comes without a bit of work.

I'm another lost soul who can't figure out playlists (on the 639)....
In the first place: everyone who says use WMP11 - what if your music is in AAC format, which WMP11 doesn't support? Second, the business of synching playlists is a bit confusing. Does this mean synching the actual music files themselves, or just the playlist file? I just transfer my stuff using Windows Explorer, so all my music is on the player already. I just want to create an .m3u file (or whatever the player supports) and drag & drop it. This didn't work (.m3u created using Foobar, btw) - apparently the player doesn't recognise m3u. Anyone know what playlist format it needs? wpl? Anyone have any words of wisdom? Thanks in advance. |

Or try Media Monkey, as it's also compatible w/AAC audio.
