U3 Turned off suddenly

My girlfriend has a u3 and she was listening to it and suddenly it turned off, then she reset it with rec and power button once but didn't fix it, then she tried one more time and worked the player working again but we want to know what can be the problem she recenly upgraded to version 1.12 UMS.
If someone knows what could be the problem please tell us.
And do the new version could be the reason for that problem.
