I would now like to use both the original firmware and rockbox. I read on a thread that a bootloader is not programmed for the X5V only the X5. Is that true? And if isn't where can I find one for the X5V?

Yes, there is no dual-bootloader for the X5V, unfortunately.

I continue to kick myself for buying the x5v and not the x5. Easy to say in hindsight though.
