Default Do volume restrictions still apply? EU/US

Hi there,
I just bought a 16Gb Zen and I like it very much. I mostly use a Sennheiser headphone (no IEM etc) and the volume at 25 is OK but not that loud.
Is it still possible to use the US firmware to remove the volume restriction or are all firmwares the same at the moment? I have the latest "E" firmware installed on my Zen.

I searched on this forum but couldn't find an answer, hope you can help me.

*UPDATE*
Just updated the firmware to the US firmware and the volume is a little louder now.

After using the Hold button, the WSOD appeared. So I'm gonna send it back to the store! Crappy Creative! :-(

Did you remove the European firmware before you applied the US firmware?

Welcome guys! You may want to check out the Zen FAQ.

Yes, I followed the instructions from the FAQ. Also the Creative MP3 Recovery Tool didn't help so I'm gonna return it to the shop.

Yes, if you are getting the WSOD regardless of the firmware work done, you should return it for another.

How long is this player on the market, 2 years now? I'd expect Creative would have fixed these WSOD issues. Apparently not...

Well, it's not like they can fix all the Zen that had already been shipped and out in the market. Besides, they seem to be focused on the Zen X-Fi more so than the regular Zen.

I wait patiently for my new Zen, hopefully without the WSOD! For now I enjoy my music with the Samsung P2... oh what punishment! ;-)

Yeah, it doesn't sound like you will be suffering while waiting on your replacement.

I won't receive a new Zen, instead I'll receive a refund. Reason: when I bought the player online the price was wrong (about 60$ too low) so I guess they want me to buy a new Zen for the regular price.
It will either be the Zen X-fi or the Cowon D2. Decisions, decisions, decisions... ;-)
