Default NW 808 Desperate Help Needed

I'll be taking an MP3 player with me on a 9 month travel trip, and need to be able to update the player with files as I go.

Unfortunately, and as many of you reading this post know, Sony's Walkman has to use Sonic Stage software, possibly the worst software ever made. I can't update my MP3 player using this, as I'd have to install it from the internet every time I'd use it which often isn't possible in internet cafes. Also it won't run from a USB flash drive.

I know there are other possibilities out there that can solve this problem, but none seem to work on the NW 808, an otherwise solid player.

If anyone, anyone has any help to provide please please do I desperately don't wanna have to buy an entirely new MP3 player!!

the only programs, except for sonicstage, that function correctly with my a808 is:
sonictunes (syncs itunes playlists) and vaio musictransfer. all the other programs I've tested corrupts the database.

however I'm back with sonicstage because you miss certain functions if you use the other programs. Like rating and such plus that I have come to like sonicstage over the years. (I would have loved to be able to use V5 though)
