i have some of those, they are pretty freaking loud, although i need to adjust the bass on my zen in order to cut the distortion from the speakers.

overall they sound pretty good. use em in the bathroom whilst showering a lot
i recommend using an AC adapter though, they seem to get TONS more sound and power when on AC rather than battery.

Default Yeah why don't we have these here yet?!

I saw these when I was checking for info on my Zen Stone before I bought it last week. I wish they were available here already. Pretty cool really.

Yeah, Creative has always been a bit slow getting things to the US market; being based in Singapore, they tend to get things out to the Asia market first.

You know, I coulda sworn Creative Labs started off as a US-based company, back in the legacy SoundBlaster days...

I dont want anything fancy. Just some decent speakers that plug into the headphone jack would do me.

I was thinking about getting a Popz as well. I know that the volume will be pretty low but i don't mind. Would the bass also be terrible?

The bass will probably be virtually non-existent. Those speaker drivers just aren't designed to push out much bass. Also, the speakers are unpowered, and the 30mW headphone amplifier in the player itself isn't going to be sufficient to move those drivers enough to produce much bass.

Anyone heard of/bought Astone Versa 200 speakers? or any of the LIFE Speakers (Beatbox or Mini Beaters)?

i got the Astone Versa 200. Brilliant quality for AU$20. Nice and compact too.
only slight downside is that it uses four AAA batteries but you do have the option of a 6V DC wall charger, (which you have to buy) which can be plugged in instead of the batteries. Overall i would recommend getting some

PS. I saw the LIFE speakers for the same price but they were smaller and looked quite flimsy

Got Altec Lansing's IM4 speakers from Buy.com (around $75.00). Pretty happy with them. The bass is pretty good for something so small. I'd have wanted more volume though.

I use the Altec Lansing XT-1. I originally bought them for the laptop. They've got pretty good sound. Slightly muddy but clean and good quality. The volume's not bad especially since the power comes from USB. It's definitely not loud though. They get power and signal from a USB port on the laptop or they come with a 3.5 mm cable to connect to your Zen. You'll also need to get an AC adapter that will power the speakers through the USB port. I use the one for my Blackberry. It's kind of a cumbersome setup for the Zen but It works for me and i already had it. Pricey at $79-$99.

also the Logitech X-230 also said to sound great. but which one sounds better overall? the Creative speakers have 100 watts total which has a 30watt Sub woofer.

I'm no expert when it comes to audio quality, but I do own the logitech speakers.

I purchased these with my newer pc. now, My older pc (which is still being used), has MUCH better speakers, like $150. They can be ear-piercing loud, and quality is of course, very good.

Now, if I were to compare those $150 speakers to these logitech speakers, I would say that the only difference is volume. The logitech can't compete with the Boston speakers masive volume. However, in terms of quality, I feel that the logitech speakers put out the same quality of sound as the Boston speakers.

Sorry I can't tell you which one sounds BETTER, but at least you know that you won't go wrong with the logitech

i havent tried the l3500, but the l3800s sound awesome. Very clean, crisp treble and smooth bass.

The 230s are nice, but the 3800s are better (and much more expensive!) I found the l320s bass becomes rubbery.

Default Portable speakers that sound great with the ZVM

I finally found some speakers that bring out the sound of the ZVM. They sound great, and the ZVM really shines with them. Really, I never expected sound this nice to come from these. They're good enough that I'm thinking about mounting a pair in the front of my 68 Bug. So I thought I'd share, in case anyone wants to go try them out.

Brand: Philips SBP1100
Price: $7 (USD)
Found at: WalMart (in the computer section)

I have those. Hmm..I'm going to have to plug those into my zen when I receive it tomorrow. Hopefully they sound better than on the computer (kinda tinny).
