Nope, the SPINN does not support aac. It supports many others though: MP3, WMA, OGG, APE, FLAC, and ASF.

Is there a reason ? I just lost my ripped music collection (hard drive failure), going to go through the process of re ripping, but this time to aac instead of ogg or mp3.

Any reason not to (apart from iriver not playing aac - I will just re encode to mp3/ogg at the time)

Many mp3 players just don't support it. ipods are the main players that do.
