[Information] P3 Firmwares
So the new 1.18 UMS KR has just been released (for people who already bought their P3 on Ebay^^)
Here is the download link: http://www.yepp.co.kr/support/suppor...1882&seq_num=1 It only improves the system stability. So nothing very interesting. Contrary to the P2 and the beta firmwares, this final firmware contains only a single BIN file instead of RSC and ROM files.

I did not buy a P3 on Ebay. I have a contact who works at Samsung France so I can test any Samsung mp3-player before it is released
 I already tested a P3 sample and I will probably test a commercial version for generationmp3.com a bit later Both UMS and MTP mp3-players also work with EmoDio!

Hmm I wonder if there is a way we can extract a .Rom and .RSC file and make some magic.
 I mean they have had to of coded it into a single file from the Beta firmwares, I bet we could just code it back. :d

Anyway it is useless! What do you want to do with ROM and RSC files?
If you want to put the P3 firmware on a P2, as I said several time, it is strictly impossible as there is a big protection system (file size and licence checking)

Oh yeah your right, Just an idea- I thought all those restrictions are just coded into their base layer coding, not the hardware, but if you take that away and replace the
p2's base layer with the P3's, That should work wouldn't it. I mean it wouldn't be editing the firmware at all, it'd be replacing it all together. I know we don't have the facotry firmware but it has to be a posssibility right? BTW, I read all over the samsung forum every day and havn't read anything about you saying it was impossible so sorry, my bad

Check out this vid of a review of the new 2.02 firmware for the P3.

Hey earlier talk of the single .bin file, it's exactly like the Cowon D2 (and possibly other Cowon players) update their firmware. And yes, the P3 firmware has been programmed to not work specifically with the P2, most likely because it would work to some usable degree and we'd be happy with that. I've tried with the early P3 firmwares and FWDN/tcctool, no luck.

Great! Thanks again Lebellium. It sure looks like Samsing is watching the other Korean manufacturers. They put a Sketch Book app to match the SPINN's Memo app. They did Mozaic search to match the S9's video mosaic feature.
