Definitely won't, you'll just lose all your stuff. I don't have a P3 but maybe try a region code change or it might be in an updated firmware, so check to see that you have the most up-to-date firmware. Hope you get it to work :P

text file region code change doesnt work like the other samsung players, doesnt change a thing, and as i said in post i have 2.07 (the latest) but its KR, even though the firmware states its for all regions it just keeps the original region and USB type

Ahh, sorry about that. I'm not sure why the EU hardware/firmware allows changes between MTP and UMS. That's so strange... they're punishing their home market, haha

The Cowon S9's latest firmware just added EQ presets working over Bluetooth. Samsung, if you want to stay atop the Bluetooth mountain you should start working on that feature.

Updated to 2.07 last night.
Battery life is awful now, I only listened to 2-3 songs and got 3/4 of the way through watching Tropic Thunder before the battery died. That's was after a full charge last night.

The 2.07 works like a dream- so easy and fast to change firmware too; with the Cowon D2 I would lose all content on the player and it took ages..

I have the same problem with emodio too. Emodio do not recognize my p3 whatever i do. I buy my p3 from russia and it has a firmware with .RU suffix. It is the latest firmware v2.07 and it doesn not allow change betwwen MTP/UMS my p3 is stuck at UMS and neither emodio nor wmp 11 recognize it. P3 is really a decent player (especially for video performance) but i cannot manage my playlists because of samsung firmware and emodio so if i can not solve it i will throw p3 soon. Any suggestions to solve this problem?

I have 2.07 EU (touch 7.5), and it is great. It shows both MTP and UMS.
Why don't you change your firmware with that? You can still choose whatever
language you want.

About battery life, I'd say it's longer than before with 2.07, no complaints there from me.

I have the same as above, and it seems to work fine.. I agree that emodio can be a pain to work with, but there is Media Monkey, Winamp, others too..

Looks like a branch split to me.
they began working for touch and V2 at the same time i would say. Hopefully, they'll push the changes on v2 too

I have had the confirmation from Korea that a new firmware will be released this week.
It will gather 1.28 and 2.07 i.e you will get touch improvement from 1.28 + new features from 2.07!

Yay, thanks lebellium. i still haven't had the oppurtunity to get one tho. i live on a check $400 a month. and i am having to pay for college, so itll be within the next month or so before i can buy one because ill be out.

I've just got my P3 and I want to update the firmware so I can get native xvid/divx support. Should I go for the 2.10 or 2.07 versions? There seems to be muchos talk about losing some of the features of 2.07 in 2.10...as always, I await your advise!

I would go for the 2.07 ! 2.10 improves the touch screen and it becomes much more better (as I have heard) but 2.07 has some stuff that are removed in 2.10 . They are small but I would wait for the next update if I were you

Thanks Tankera, would I still have divx/xvid support if I update to 2.10? I am kind of thinking of what improvements the touch interface would get, cos I wouldnt mind losing out on the sketch book app...and I've never used the touch volume thing, so dont know how much of a difference it will have for me..
