I've been reading the very positive reviews for the 436 model in regards to the superior sound quality. I'm currently using a Sansa 2gb Clip which is also noted for good sound quality but the review on this site of the Sonys implies their sound is somewhat higher in quality than even the Sansa's. Are there any current or previous Sansa owners/users here that have compared the Sony's sound to that of the Sansa Clip?

See my post earlier today. Volume is very low. Don't recommend the device if it can not be addressed.

I would not recommend getting the Sony e436 because of the problems I have read about. I just bought a Sony a818. I also have a Sansa Fuze which sounds the same as the Sansa Clip. I prefer the sound of the Sony because it more customizable.

Thanks for the advice, all. Decided to go with an 8gb Sansa Fuze, after reading the reviewer's comments in the Sansa thread where he discussed Sony & Sansas.
