Xvid is ok and the resolution should not surpass 480:376.

If the resolution is within the range and they don't lag on PC, I am afraid there happens some error on the SPINN. Then try re-update the firmware.

Here's a format that I use for it: AVI in H.264. Works like a charm, I've never had any lag with it...
The main reason I use this format instead of WMV 9, is sheerly because the movie converter that comes with it is that it takes longer than converting to H.264... At least the default converter's compression did. |

So, short of using another converter, is there any way to get the orginal converter to convert more than the 3 minutes? because that's what it always does to me too. There's no other problem, and what it does convert looks fine, but it only does the first 3 minutes or so

Try converting the files WITHOUT your Spinn attached to the PC
When I use the converter while my Spinn is attached, it only converts the first 3 minutes or so, but when I don't have my Spinn attached to my PC it converts the complete video and I only have to copy it to my device. It takes a litlle bit more time, but it works for me |

I use AllToAVI for all my video converting, works great!
Batch is also possible. see: http://alltoavi.sourceforge.net/ |

I'm actually having a different problem with media converter. For some reason it doesn't convert the entire video. Eg, if the video is 1hr 30mins, it'll only convert 1hr of the movie and give me that as the output...any ideas on what the problem could be or should I just try another converter?

both programs r cool but i just wanted to know why it was happening. For some reason the aspect ratio wouldn't change in pocketdivxencoder so I'm using alltoavi like another poster mentioned and it seems to be working great. The high quality in alltoavi is really good and about the same size as pocketdivxencoder. thanks a mil for the response

I have had a lot problems finding a descent encoder that converts from .flv to avi.
I have just tested out FormatFactory 2.10 and it seems to work fine. I made 3 outputs on 480x272 pxl. One with 18 fps, another with 25 fps, and a third with 30 fps. All work (though as low as 18 fps is not to recommend for descent viewing) http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Format_Factory Last edited by Bolt1919; 08-22-2009 at 05:25 PM. |
