I had my zen v plus plugged into my computer transferring files and charging it when my nephew thought it would be funny to unplug it. It stayed on the docking screen frozen for a few minutes so I tried to shut it off, eventually it shut off now I can't get it to turn on, and now my computer doesn't reconize that it's even plugged in. Can it be fixed or do I have to buy a new one?

This happens when the player freezes up and its battery empties. Since the screen doesn't switch itself off, the battery gets used up pretty fast.
You should push the reset button on the side of the player using a needle or paperclip (make sure NOT to insert it into the microphone hole). If the player is off because the battery is empty, plug it in for charging and after a few minutes push the reset button to let it boot up.

Have you tried pressing the small Reset button?
