Well, seeing is believing. There is a plastic support above the hard drive that is not shown in the video. As you can see it is not too difficult to perform.

If you are going to pay someone why not just send it back to Cowon? Over iaudiophile.net some posted recently on doing just that -

I sent it to Cowon they said they are replacing the battery for $47, not bad.
