What Feature(s) would you like to see on the SPINN?

i think the iriver SPINN is so sweet. The MEMO pad is pretty cool and the AMOLED screen owns all lol!

What would you like to see done on the SPINN?

Me personallly, i would like to see:

- Animated/motion wallpaper - or maybe a repeated video clip as your wallpaper ( probably would create lag but i'm sure it could be done right)

- Stronger attempt with Lyric Display - the current lyric display has the lyrics to a song under the Album art, which is small. Could maybe have a feature that allows you to merge the TEXT(lyrics) and SONG right on the SPINN.

- Better flash game - most of the Flash game that i personally have are like "ports" from other iriver MP3 players(e.g. Clix)

I have been trying to put an animated background in that changed according to the time of day. *Go's back and tries again using a different method*

The thing that I want to see is mainly widget support - this is another thing that I've put into my theme, but it'd be awfully nice to have official ones. :P

I want someone to start from scratch and rethink the touchscreen/spindle UI. IMO one should be able to rely completely on the screen to access all your media. Jumping back and forth from the spindle to the screen is an insult to the purity of a touch interface. The spindle can still change volume, pause/play, jump tracks. Anything you'd want external buttons for on most touchscreen players.

Another smart key! (maybe on the screen) I like to switch back and forth from landscape to portrait.. and I like using it as a now playing button.. so im constantly switching the smart key.

Here's another feature they could fix:

- Now playing( after back light goes out) - The SPINN should go back to the song playing(Now playing) after the backlight goes out.

Remembering where you were in the menu's would be handy too... Then you can easily set your next track you want to listen and still use the other functions you like.
Also, a play all function in a artist map would be handy, and when you've listened to all songs from a artist, it continous to the next artist. A more widget-based interface would be cool as well, for example you could drag the album art where you like it (however i still like the interface now, it's unique).

a way to jump to the top level menu, like a soft HOME button next to the BACK on the screen. it's quite annoying having to back out of 4 or 5 sublevels just to get back to the desktop.

You do know you can just hold down the back button, right?

well how about easier playlist creation on the SPINN. at least so you can add entire albums and artists instead of just doing it song by song... unless i don't know something again...

Artist/song selection could be more intuitive. For example, first you start with an alphabet, simple touch of artist first letter takes you to submenu, where all artists starting with selected letter are listed. I hope you've got an idea

I would like to see flash calendar with window for notes on every day.

For the music player:
- Play next (queue)
- Play last (queue)
- More from same Artist/Album/Genre/Year/etc
- Play all in Artist/Album/etc
- A play queue where you can rearrange the order of the songs

Memo:
- Possibility to open saved memos
- Possibility to save memos with a name or a category (impossible to find the right memo when you have 50 of them - especially with the loading times)

Future version of SPINN:
- Volume buttons moved next to the mic
- External mic support
- A processor faster than 1MHz...
- An actual touchscreen
- The newer AMOLED screens that work better in sunlight

hi all, i cannot find any info about teh "smart key" on the spinn. how does it work? i have it set for landscape/portrait but i dont know how to engage it. thanks in advance

Pressing down on the SPINN Wheel for a second or two should engage the smart key.
