I've researched ways to connect directly to my Mazda 3 head unit. Would I receive better results through the usb connection or headphone jack?
I recently purchased a NWZ S 738 Walkman and love it! |

I would say the headphone jack, but the usb method would problay charge the unit so you would not have to worry about the battery, even though the battery would last you on all your car rides.

s738 won't work by trying to plug it to the USB- it won't play or give any output via the USB plug. It also won't charge it either. Something wierd about the Sony's in that way. As far as I know the usb to plug chargers also will not work.
Headphone jack is the way to go. |

I tried the headphone jack into an aux jack in a friends car and it sounds great. I agree the battery life will last long enough for my use.

Another option would be to be this: http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/...52921665369128 . Set it in a cupholder (if it fits) and wire it into your car using a inverter for power. The line out may give more volume than the regular headphone out, but that's just guess.
