Hey folks, I just got my Spinn yesterday and have got it updated to firmware 2.10 M.
I love the improvements to the firmware with v. 2.10, but have found this update to cause problems with video playback. Video with the 1.2 firmware was beautiful and crisp... now I see a lot of compression artifacts during playback as well as a white or green line along the bottom of the screen: the bottom-most few pixels don't display properly. Any idea how to fix this? p.s. I'm using ubuntu, so I can't use the iriver updater applications. Does anyone know of a direct download link for the US version of the 2.20 firmware? update:
I've tried the Korean version of 2.20 firmware without any change to the video playback problem. playback is jerky and pixellated with an annoying green or white line accross the bottom of the screen. I think I'll have to use the software CD to revert my player to the factory state and firmware 1.5... Only I'll have to wait until I can get access to a computer running windows (I have a imac and a laptop running ubuntu). Is this video problem happening for anyone else? |

Reset your Iriver Spinn maybe that helps.

I have the same problem too. Not sure if its the converter or the player itself. Probably the player. The video will get like half way through playing really jerky, then the sound will slow down about half way through and the video starts speeding up really fast and there is no more sound. This is what happend after I used any video converter to convert the video to a wmv file. Before it did what you said it did. Got pixelated and crap. I'm running windows XP Home Edition on a Compaq Presario. I hope someone solves this problem. If I do, I will post the solution.

There is, look at the firmware problem solutions on this site. It will be a .HEX file.
