I'm having a problem with my computer recognizing my Sandisk Fuze. This happened right after I installed SP2 from Windows Update a week ago. It keeps asking me to install Driver Software for it. I click the recommended options, so it can download it online automatically, but then pops up with this error:
![]() So far I've been putting music on Windows 7 (or manually), but since that is not my main OS and its an RC I don't want to keep having to switch to W7 just to add music. |

I've never had this problem on Vista or OS X or Windows 7 RC maybe try downloading the drivers from http://sandisk.com and installing them will work for you?

I can't find the drivers on the site, only the Firmware installer is able to download, I already have that though.

Have you tried MSC mode with the Fuze?

I tried both MSC and MTP, the same happens. It just happened after I installed SP2 for Vista, I tried to go back with System restore, but that fails.
Any way to get these drivers Manually? This isn't the only problem, it's also when I start Vista I get this message I need to install Compact Flash driver, Idk what that is. |

MTP driver is integrated into WMP11 and Vista, so there is no separate drive for it (nor do you need one). MSC driver is also built into all Windows after 98SE, so no driver as well.
Try this: connect your fuze to your PC and let the installation error run its course, then go to the Device Manager (in your control panel, system and maintenance) via the admin account, see if there is any "!" under 'portable devices'. Right click on the device w/ "!" sign and uninstall it, then go to 'action' menu and scan for hardware change. See if the whole thing pop up again.

fresh reformat of windows server 2008 x64 enterprise workstation service pack 2 and works fine. Plug the fuze into the usb when you have wmp11 open. I find it works faster for some reason. Do not have driver messages. Use server 2008 if you can! works great and much faster and less bloated then vista!

Thanks, for the help, but just yesterday I decided to install the drivers again, and they worked. So its all good now, I think one of the recent PC boot checks helped, I didn't even ask for a check up at start up, but Windows did and I think that solved the problem.
