Unhappy A728 Dies...again

Hello everyone,
About 9 months ago I purchased a sony walkman A728. Needless to say, I loved it and still do. However, about a week ago, it suddenly died. It won't respond to anything. Believe me I've tried charging it (for 48 hours+). I'm always been very careful with it and have never dropped or damaged it. It has a very sturdy case.

Unforuntanetly, my friend's walkman (also an A728) died about a month ago as well. It was completely unresponsive like mine. He bought it around the same time I did, and has not had any luck fixing it.

Could it have something to do with the battery? I'm stumped and could use some help!

Thanks

Default I have the sony nwz a729

Mate, do you have a guarantee with it?

Have you tried using the reset button?

I bought mine from Argos clearance with 1 year guarantee.

I absolutely love my 729, if anything happened I'd be upset!

but its working just fine

Contact Sony, but I hope you saved the receipt as a precaution. I'm not sure if the manufacturer's warranty from them is 90 days, or 1 year. Give them a call, both of you. And please, keep us posted.

I talked to my buddy who had the same problem, he said he called Sony. Apparently they said that the manufacturer's warranty was up and that they could fix it for a fee.

The fee, however, was fairly high and was close to the cost of a brand new player.

I'll call up tomorrow and see if I get the same answer, hopefully there's a better way to get it working again.

All of this aside, I do love my a728 and have come to appreciate it after being forced to use my old, clunky ipod video (*shiver*).
