That's a great deal, especially considering how cheap you can get an 8GB microsdhc card. For that matter, you could get this player and a 16GB card for it for less than $100.

Size doesn't matter if it's a v1 or v2. Its all in the firmware that's installed on the player that designates it a revision 1 or revision 2 player. I have an 8GB Fuze and its a revision 1 (Rockboxable).

i just got mine in the mail today and i just updated it to v01.02.26a so is this a v1?

it came in just a brown envelope with earphones and cable no sansa packaging of any kind

Yes, if the FW starts with 1, it is a V1.

makes me wish i would have ordered one. maybe. i mean i have one with RB but its a refurb. and while perfect, i have always felt battery life to be a bit lacking. i just don't think i get the hours i would from a new one. could be wrong

anyway good going on snagging a v.1. i've had mine RB'd for around a week now and am loving it

How is RB on the Fuze?. I'm really anxious to try it on my 8G but am waiting for an official release. I love it on my e200's. And when WinFF gets a preset for it I'll be in DAP heaven!!

You can just use the e200 preset in WinFF (or any video converter program), the screens are the same resolution as far as mpegplayer is concerned.

its great so far as i can tell. i posted in the Fuze RB thread about the one minor issue i am having with video. just getting a slight vertical "flicker" now and again with the picture. doesn't bother me much because it happens just a few times every few minutes and i just watch music video. if anything

so far it compares well with my e260 RB. and it has a feature that one doesn't, as i can use a completely different WPS from the theme i am using. i think that is cool. the "Application" and "Demo" programs seem to move faster and more fluently, if that makes a difference. smoother. like the "matrix" effect. the fire, starfield, etc. i really don't mess with that stuff but i checked it out. pictureflow looks great. and of course all the sound settings, folder browsing, playback settings. it all works fine

i'm using themes developed for an iriver atm. one of the models has the same screen res of the Fuze so they work. i guess as more are developed more themes will become available

but yeah, so far so good

Just found out that shnoop is sending out refurbished players, on there site they said that they were new

I guess that explains the price. Then again, refurb is probably the only way now to get a V1, so if you want Rockbox, I guess you lucked out. Either way, it's a helluva price for a player that you can add a 16GB card to.

i do not mind getting a refurb, but on the site and on the invoice it says new, so that what i was expecting
