Default Does P3 have same connector as Z5?

Hi,

I just ordered a P3 from B&H, and I just saw that it doesn't come with a wall charger. Will my old YP-Z5 wall charger work with it? Do they have the same proprietary port?

Thanks!

What do you mean USB cord? All samsung players have a proprietary connection..the charger that came with my Z5 has a proprietary port...I want to know if the P3 had the same port, so i could use the Z5 charger with it..

It means its the one you have to use with it. the p3 looks to have a 32 pin slot. but that doesnt mean that anything will work with it. and USB is the kind of connection. its just a chord that has a special end that plugs into a USB port.

This is the port (left) on the Z5 charger. Is it the same as the P3? That's my question. If it is, then I can use the Z5 charger with the P3.

If any Z5 owner can confirm, then damnit....how do you guys charge your P3 when you don't have access to a PC?

I ordered the 8GB from B&H for ~$133 shipped...already have an iPhone 3GS for casual listening/web surfing, so didn't go for the Touch (How do Touch and P3 compare in sound quality?) hope I didn't waste it... Is Samsung killing off support for the P3 or something? I mean I only found B&H and Dell selling it online...not even Amazon has it...is firmware update still going strong?

i dont. even need a pc, the usb end will plug into any usb port. they have
they have standard wall chargers.all you need is an outlet u can plug the usb end into that and itll charge. The usb end doesn't care where its plugged into as long as its usb, its the other end that does

@Dues
If you're literally out and about, a powerchimp (or something similar) is a great investment, because AA batteries are about as abundant as nitrogen so you can always find some and charge up your player. Although you still need to carry round the proprietary cable all the time, which is a pain. Other than that, USB wall chargers are the easiest solution

Haha, the chimp looks interesting but 24.50 euros is ~$35, kind of on the expensive side (considering I got the Z5 charger for free..) The Belkin looks nice...maybe I'll get it...even the $2 iPod white USB charger would work, right? Just needs a USB port...are there differences between chargers? Like charging speed? I just want something fast, small, and nice-looking, nothing over $10....since I'm only 16...

Any Shure SE530 or Phonak PFE users here? Hows the synergy with the P3?

Also, should I get a case for the P3? Do the back/sides/front scratch or fingerprint smudge easily? Any decent silicone cases?

I thought the chimp was expensive too, but I found a deal (in the UK though, sorry), and looking back I would have paid full price for it. Its one of the most useful things I own, after my swiss army knife and phone. But yes, the ipod wall charger is what I use for my e260, so a cheap one off ebay would work fine with the P3, although I've never really checked if it charges quicker than from a computer.
earphones I cant help you on, and the P3 is known to be a tough player but I cant see anything wrong with having a silicone skin or a soft bag to store it in

What I meant was would something like the Belkin ($18) charge faster than $2 iPod charger? If it does, than I'd spend the extra money to do so, but if they're roughly the same charge time, than I would rather get the $2 iPod charger...

anyone heard of the Bluelounge Sanctuary charger?

Anyone have the silicone P3 case? How is it? Any pics? The Noreve looks nice, but it's a bit expensive @ $40, and does completely obscure the P3 (one of the reasons why I'm getting the P3, I don't think there's a better looking player out there right now) I did see the hardness test on youtube, but my main reason in getting a case is avoiding fingerprint smudges on such a beautiful player...
